Make It Come True

Instead of speaking,
I hold my words back behind my lips.
All my feelings could be proven,
I could show you that love exists.
But you run away too soon,
You don't even give me the chance.
I'm standing in the middle of the room
Waiting to ask you to dance.
The truth is, I'll be waiting forever,
And that's something I'll do.
Because the way your eyes hypnotize me
Makes me want no one but you.
I want to count every color in your eyes,
I want to listen to you breathe.
I want your smile to be my sunrise,
I want your kiss to be my release.
Save me from myself,
Hold me in your arms.
Baby, if you just let me,
I won't cause you any harm.
Because I can see it now,
Spending my forever with you.
I can see it now,
So let me make it come true.

The Love I Bleed

Let’s get lost counting the stars

And pretend our dreams will come true.

Let’s watch the waves crash in

All while I hold on to you.

Let’s leave the world behind,

Let it keep all of our pain.

I’ll protect your heart,

I’ll be your shelter from the rain.

I’ll fix all the breaks in your heart,

I’ll erase your scars with a kiss.

Just lay with me tonight,

This moment is all that exists.

Time ticks away the breaths

I use saying I love you.

But there’s plenty of air left

For me to prove it true.

Words might not always

Be the easiest way to show it.

So let me use my hands to lead,

Let me drink you in with my kiss.

You deserve a world where

You get all that you want and need.

I can be the one to give it,

You are the love I bleed.

Hope

We look for it every single day.

We look for it in the rising of the sun in the morning or in the stars as they patiently wait on the moon to rise at night.

We look for it in the eyes of a child, or in the face of a broken man as he rises from the ashes.

We look for it in a TV show, a book, or a song.

We look for it in the words of other people when ours don't seem to be good enough.

And when we find it, that hope we’ve been searching so hard for, what do we do with it? Do we stand in front of the mirror and wipe our tears away? Do we look deep into our own eyes and say ‘I’m going to make it’?

What if when we find it, we then realize it isn’t enough? Do we find ourselves back in the same place we were, right at the edge of a cliff we want to jump off of just as much as we want to turn away from, at the meeting of the beginning and end? Do we end up torn between the fear of not being able to make it and the fear of being successful?

Or do we finally look into ourselves, into our own souls, and find that hope waiting for us? Do we cherish it, hold it, and let it heal us? Do we let it replace the pieces of our heart that were lost on the messy path of our lives?

Life, as tragic and scary as it may be, is also so beautiful. We might not be able to see it sometimes due to the tears blurring our vision, but the beauty is there; and so is hope.

Maybe, we just weren't ready to see it.
